I got a divorce and moved out to a little town about 30 minutes from Jackson in 2013. The divorce turned me inside out and upside down, even though I am the one who wanted it. The death of a 30 year marriage just isn't easy, even though it was dying before I asked for the divorce. But I am much better now, I know this because I have picked my wyrd needles back up.
My first expression of my creativity brought back to life is my Autumn Earth Mama. Fall is my favorite time of year, and the colors of the changing leaves always inspire me, making me itch it translate them into fiber. So I pulled out my fabrics, and She was born. And I felt like I was reborn at the same time.
I then volunteered to pilot a stumpwork class for EGA. I am steadily working my way through the lessons, and it is a very good class. I am thoroughly enjoying it! Here are a couple of little samplers of some basic stumpwork motifs from the first and second lesson.
Tomorrow, my results from my IHSW!
