It has been so hot here in Mississippi, but strangely, not as hot as up north! We have been in the mid to upper 90’s, while many of our neighbors further north have been in the triple digits. Whew! I have been hibernating inside with my A/C.
I have been stitching quite a bit. The two things I’m concentrating on right now are my Halloween House by Imaginating and my Portrait of Elizabeth by Gay Ann Rogers.
Here is my progress on my Halloween House through this weekend. I am hoping to finish it in time to frame it and hang it in my office for the month of October.
This week I am concentrating on my Portrait of Elizabeth after Gay Ann posted in our group to encourage us to pick up our needles and work on her, so that a bunch of expensive kits would not be languishing in our stashes. LOL It was just the stimulus I needed to pick Elizabeth back up, and my goal is to work on her 30 minutes each day this week. In this photo I have her face finished, and I’m now working on her hands.
At the end of July, I made a bustle for my daughter. She is going to Dragon*Con, which is a huge sci-fi and fantasy convention in Atlanta, and one of her costumes is a pirate queen. So I made this bustle for her. It was a lot of fun! She will be wearing a corset and boots with it.
I had some tiny guests hanging around my flower pots on my patio…teeny tiny little toads. There were three of them, and they were about the size of the nail on my pinky. I really wanted to hold them, but they would have none of that.
Isn’t he just too cute? :o)
